Hi.
Brand newbie on this board.
Looking for purchase tips. I've got a quote on a new BX1850, but I'm also considering a used model with low hours if the price is right.
I'll be running around to some dealers in the next few weeks, and I was wondering what I should be looking out for on used BX1830's, BX2230's, BX1850's, and BX2250's. In other words, what are common things that go wrong.

I probably wouldn't consider anything with more than 150 hours unless it was super clean.
I'll be looking for something with MMM, FEL, and possibly a rear snowthrower, and I'll want to add a cab later.

Any pricing advice (what would be a good deal) is also appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Ken

Ken, if possible talk with who ever had it and find out why they got rid of it. If they tell you it was just too small or would not handle what they wanted it to do, gently prode them to find out if they might have abused it somehow to know that. I bought one slightly larger sight unseen based upon relationship with the dealer and never regretted it. I would not be scared of a few more hours either. Especially if the dealer had dones the recommended service on it.

Welcome to tp, kt

I forgot the price, in my area the used price on Kubotas hold very well. Went 80 miles and it was a few thousand less on the used ones. Same on new.

Ken, ask as Ken had said as to their use. We often have taken the straight BX's in for one's with backhoes and they are far from abused and still a great value. Look at what they had worked with and see if there is any damage. If I see decks bent in and signs of operator neglect I would stay away. ....
